What is e-PAN scam?
Recently many people received an email claiming to download e-PAN card. In this mail, an attempt is made to contact the user through link, call or SMS. But this mail is not real - it is a cyber fraud.
How does cheating happen?
On clicking the link given in the mail, a fake website opens
There you are asked for bank details, PAN number, Aadhaar number or password
If you give the information, hackers can withdraw money from your account.

Government agencies have clarified that they never ask for personal information through email or SMS. If you get any such mail, complain about it immediately.

You can complain about such fake mail on www.cybercrime.gov.in or send a report to the concerned email address.
