How much compensation is given in case of cloudburst
In case of cloudburst, flood or any other natural disaster, the central government along with the state governments not only provides financial help to the victims but also provides them other assistance. Currently, under the policy of the central government, compensation of Rs 2 lakh per death is provided to the relatives of the deceased. In addition, the Uttarakhand government can give additional relief amount at its own level, which is usually up to Rs 4 lakh. Apart from this, the government has to bear the entire cost of treatment of seriously injured persons. There is also a provision of different amounts for loss of property, such as loss of house, crop or livestock. For eligibility, the family of the deceased applies to the local administration, in which documents like death certificate, postmortem report and identity card are required.
