BBC Breakfast fans say the same thing about 'cringeworthy' Naga and Charlie interview

BBC Breakfast triggered a wave of criticism on Saturday, with numerous viewers describing a specific interview as "cringeworthy."

Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt chatted with farmer Josh Warren and his daughter Faye from their Draycott farm, discussing how the weather had affected their pumpkin crop.

Josh revealed that the pumpkins had matured too quickly because of the scorching temperatures and that he wished Halloween could be moved to September rather than October 31.

Naga opened the interview by asking: "How is the harvest, as it looks like you've got some healthy specimens in front of you?"

Josh raised his hands as he responded: "The pumpkins are very early, too early for Halloween. We need to bring Halloween forward a month, to at least September," reports the Express.

"Oh, dear," Naga responded before continuing, "So explain what's been happening? What size should the pumpkins be on this date at the end of August?".

Lifting a massive pumpkin, the farmer explained, "It should be this colour, not this size. So this should be August."

Grabbing another hefty orange pumpkin, Josh continued, "And they shouldn't be like that. This should be October."

"I know this sounds crazy," he informed the presenters. "But I need now no rain because they could by the end of October rot in the field."

Charlie was swift to interject and observe: "You've got a real problem there."

Yet viewers were quick to voice their opinions about the segment before it had even finished, with many calling it uncomfortable on social media. "Wtf is this pumpkin feature? Awkward Interview or what?" one viewer remarked.

Another viewer quipped: "Bet Charlie & Naga are wishing this interview was shorter."

"Hahahaha, dear lord #bbcbreakfast," a third chimed in, while another added: "Cringeworthy pumpkin interview, to be honest."

Yet another commented: "Wow, awkward interview lol #bbcbreakfast."
