A Place in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has publicly addressed an online remark claiming she was “too old” to wear a bikini, responding with a defiant post on social media.
The 43‑year‑old revealed earlier this week that she had read the comment on one of her recent Instagram posts. Instead of ignoring it, Hamilton used the opportunity to speak out about body confidence and ageism.
She shared a new photo showing herself sitting poolside in a blue and white bikini, along with a video of her relaxing on a day-bed with her daughter. It comes after the A Place In The Sun presenter shared an 'exciting' update as fans 'congratulated' the star.

In the caption, she asked: “Who decides when we’re ‘too old’ for anything?” She went on to explain: “I recently read a comment saying I was too old to wear a bikini… and it honestly made me stop and think for a second. But then I reminded myself, life’s way too short to worry about what other people think.”
Hamilton said her decision to wear the swimsuit that day had nothing to do with the comment. “Today I’m wearing a swimsuit, not because of the comment I read but because I wanted to and I feel comfortable in it,” she wrote.
Addressing her followers directly, she added: “We all have days when we feel self‑conscious, but we deserve to enjoy the sunshine, the beach, the pool - whatever makes us happy - no matter our age and whether we choose to wear a swimsuit or a bikini!!”
She concluded her post with the message: “Live your life and feel good in your own skin.”
Fans flooded the comments section with messages of support, praising Hamilton’s confidence and refusal to be shamed.
One follower wrote: “You look incredible and are such an inspiration to women everywhere. Age means nothing when you look and feel great.”
Another commented: “Ignore the trolls. You’re beautiful, confident and showing that style and grace have no age limit.”
A third added: “Thank you for speaking up. I’m in my forties too and often feel judged for wearing what I want - you’ve just given me the confidence to stop caring.”
Others pointed out that Laura's message was not just about appearance, but about rejecting outdated ideas of what women can and cannot do as they get older.
Since joining A Place In The in Sun back in 2011, Laura has become a familiar face and is the second-longest serving presenter, with Jasmine Harman starring on the programme since 2004.
But after more than a decade, viewers might wonder if Laura is considering a departure. When asked about her future on the show, Laura shared: "I've been in television and the industry for a very long time.

"Since I was 18! So I got into presenting when I was 22, and I very much hope to be continuing filming, filming with A Place in the Sun and new property stuff. I am actively involved in property away from any TV-related stuff that I do."
Despite the show airing for an hour each weekday, Laura disclosed that the behind-the-scenes work stretches across five days, giving the team ample time to understand the needs of the house hunters.
She expressed: "I guess they feel like they know us because the show is the second longest-running show on Channel 4.
"So people do feel like they know us and they're comfortable with us. It's great for me, it's the perfect thing! A bit of travel, a bit of property and the people!"
