Liverpool are on the verge of selling academy graduate Tyler Morton to Lyon, which will boosttheir hopes of signing Alexander Isak. The Reds have spent more than £300million this summer, but Newcastle United recently turned down a bid of £120m.
They recently had a fresh injection of funds by selling Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich for £65.5m. Now Arne Slot's team could score a new windfall, as the Ligue 1 side recently made contact about securing a £15m deal.
The Wirral born midfielder made his debut for the Reds in 2021 when Jurgen Klopp started him in their Champions League clash against Porto. He made a firm impression with the German and his team-mates, with midfield magician Thiago Alcantara praising his performance.

After his display showed maturity beyond his years, Thiago told reporters: "The first time Tyler came, I said 'Who is this player?'
"He was training amazingly with us and he deserved to be part of the team tonight. I think he will have a bright and great career here at Liverpool and in football in general."
Nearly four years after his unforgettable moment, Lyon look set to sign him, according to the Athletic. The outlet claims he is close to moving across the English channel to sign for Paulo Fonseca's side.
While he is thought of highly on Merseyside, he has been stuck behind Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Harvey Elliott in the pecking order. After a huge summer of spending, Liverpool will be keen to recoup some funds, especially since Newcastle have made it clear they will need to up their offer for Isak to tempt them into selling.

Their Premier League record-breaking bid of £120m on Friday night was rebuffed by the Magpies, who, according to Sky Sports, will only sanction a sale if they sign a replacement for the Swede. The Reds are believed to be preparing a second bid for Isak, though some reports claim they might walk away for now.
Isak did not travel on Eddie Howe's side's pre-season tour of South Korea. He has also been training alone, using the facilities of his former side Real Sociedad, who he left to join Newcastle in the summer of 2022 for £60m.
Isak has contributed 62 goals and 11 assists in 109 appearances for the Toon. They are looking to replace his goals by signing Benjamin Sesko.
The League Cup winners made a formal bid for the RB Leipzig forward, which is understood to be around £70m. The 22-year-old Slovenian is also being closely monitored by Manchester United, who have been trying to sign a new centre-forward all summer.
Howe has so far been resolute about Isak's status at Newcastle, but the ex-Bournemouth manager has admitted it's out of his control. Commenting on Liverpool's recent offer for him, Howe said: "I was made aware of a bid yesterday (Friday) and that bid was turned down, all before I’d even heard about it.
"People back in England are dealing with the situation. I don’t know what happens next. From our perspective, we still support Alex in every way and my wish is that we see him in a Newcastle shirt again.”
