A nightmare neighbour tormented a young couple by blasting heavy metal in the early hours.
Marc Morgan "plagued" his neighbours for three months with the AC/DC and Black Sabbath songs amid a feud with the couple. A court heard Morgan, 57, also made threats against his victims, shouted through the walls at the couple in Risca, south Wales.
The female complainant "did not feel safe" in her own home following the torment, which began in late November 2024 and persisted until February this year. Her partner described in his impact statement the anxiety Morgan's behaviour had caused.
But Morgan's 24-week prison sentence was suspended for 12 months last week, even though the judge at Newport Crown Court described the behaviour as "an appalling way" to act.

The defendant, who is a former soldier, disturbed the couple with screeching guitar and banging drums, often heard in heavy metal numbers, between 10pm and 2am.
And things worsened on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day last year when Morgan made threats against his victims, shouting through the walls: "Come on, big man! W******!... You have bitten off more than you can chew!"
The couple also heard drilling noises they thought were coming through their wall. In a victim impact statement, the female complainant said: "I feel scared and this has consumed my life. I've not been able to sleep properly and I don't feel safe in my own home." The male victim said: "I'm anxious as to what's going to happen next as he's so unpredictable."
Morgan, from Risca, pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment. He has previous convictions which include harassment against different neighbours and was jailed for eight months last year for dangerous driving, the court was told.
Represented by Abhinav Mohindru, the court heard that Morgan was a Gulf War veteran who had served in the RAF. He suffers from PTSD and had not previous convictions until he was 50 after his marriage broke down.
Judge Celia Hughes told him: "This was an appalling way to behave towards a young couple." Morgan was jailed for 24 weeks but the sentence was suspended for 12 months after a probation report had identified him as being capable of rehabilitation.
A nightmare neighbour who "caused real misery" by shouting abuse, fighting people in the street, and stealing knives from another property at their flats in Guisborough, Teesside was ordered to leave the home recently. The couple used the case of yobbish behaviour as an example to highlight such acts "will not be tolerated".
