Earwax is also known as earwax or cerumen. It is a natural substance produced by the glands present in the skin of the ear. It is a yellow waste which is necessary in small quantities for the safety of the ear. Usually, earwax comes out slowly on its own. But sometimes it accumulates too much or hardens and gets stuck, which can cause problems. This can cause problems like heaviness in the ear, hearing loss, ringing sound in the ear, itching or burning, sometimes pain or bad smell. Dr. Richard Gurgel, ear surgeon at the University of Utah Health, is telling you how to clean earwax.

Avoid this mistake to remove dirt
- The doctor said that if you are using any small and sharp object to remove earwax, then stop doing it immediately. This can damage the eardrum.
Mineral Oil - Mineral oil is considered a safe and effective way to clean earwax. It softens the earwax, allowing it to come out easily.
How to use mineral oil - Lightly warm the mineral oil and put 2-3 drops in the ear. Keep the head tilted to one side for a few minutes so that the oil penetrates deep inside. This will soften the dirt and it will start coming out on its own
Baby Oil
- Baby oil can also be used to clean earwax. It works in a similar way to mineral oil and softens the earwax so that it can be removed easily.
How to use baby oil
- Warm the baby oil slightly. Put 2-3 drops in the ear. The softened dirt will gradually come out. You can clean the outer part of the ear with a soft cloth.
