A chilling incident of violence stemming from unrequited love has come to light in Mudiyari village under the Bhudkuda police station area. A young man, identified as Sangam Rajbhar, was arrested for attacking a sleeping couple with an axe on the night of June 23. Police investigation revealed that Rajbhar was obsessed with the wife of the victim and resorted to violence when his advances were rejected.
The victims, Vinay and his wife, were asleep in their room when Rajbhar, who had reportedly hidden inside their house, launched the attack with an axe before fleeing. Both Vinay and his wife sustained injuries in the assault. They subsequently filed a complaint at the Bhudkudra police station, prompting an investigation.
Unsuccessful "Love" on Instagram Led to AttackDuring their ongoing investigation, police received information about Sangam Rajbhar's whereabouts near the Brahma Baba temple. Swift action led to his arrest and subsequent remand to jail.
According to police sources, Sangam Rajbhar was in "one-sided love" with Vinay's wife. He reportedly communicated with her daily on Instagram. However, when he realized his romantic overtures were unsuccessful, he allegedly decided to take drastic action.
On the night of June 23, Rajbhar entered the couple's home with the intention of killing them as they slept. He attacked them with an axe. Fortunately, both Vinay and his wife woke up during the assault and sustained only minor injuries, allowing the accused to flee the scene at that time.
Upon his arrest, the Bhudkuda police interrogated Sangam Rajbhar and recovered the axe used in the incident. He was then presented in court along with the recovered weapon and sent to judicial custody.
