BBC viewers are heaping praise on a nail-biting French drama series. The series follows the story of a wealthy family who require a nanny to help look after their youngest child, Orso, as the mother, Paula (played by Mélanie Doutey), returns to work after maternity leave.
Paula hires a reserved young woman named Tess (Lucie Fagedet) as an au pair, and she seems perfect at first. The older children adore her, but Paula soon becomes suspicious, and a series of accidents paint her as a bad mother as the series unfolds. Tensions rise between Paula and Tess, with the concerned mother-of-three desperate to unearth the truth about Tess' past as she fears the nanny is capable of murder.
"The Intruder is a stylish psychological thriller which gradually builds to a nail-biting race against time, ensuring that viewers will be addicted to the very end," said Sue Deeks, the Head of BBC Programme Acquisition.
The BBC acquired the four-part, award-winning French drama this autumn, and it is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
