An expert on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip joked that he was "worried" after a BBC star appeared on the thrifty show and started "making threats". Former EastEnders actresses Rita Simons, who played Roxy Mitchell, and Laila Morse, aka 'Big Mo' Harris, were on a mission to scour Devon for the most profitable antiques, with the help of experts Catherine Southon and Angus Ashworth.
Keen to win, Laila, who was paired up with Angus, well and truly brought her fighting talk to the competition. As she and Rita made their way to Devon, they talked about some of their haggling techniques, with the Roxy actress admitting that she isn't afraid to flutter her eyelashes to get a better deal. Later on, when Laila was introduced to her expert partner, she spilled some tactics of her own. He asked her: "What about the negotiation side of things? Are you a tough negotiator?" She replied: "Well I'm going to try," she then raised a fist before adding: "Otherwise, I'm going to get them in a headlock!"
Later in the episode, the BBC soap star found a chair that she loved the look of. However, the price tag wasn't so tantilising at a whopping £110 for just one item. "I like it, I think it's nice," she said.
But Angus quickly burst her bubble, saying: "I think we need to get a reasonable discount on that to give us a fighting chance. But we can try and negotiate?"
Laila had another aggressive idea as she suggested: "Well, I could kick him in the shins?" The expert took a step back and put his hand on his mouth, before saying: "Well, we could try. There's no harm in trying is there?"
The 80-year-old actress asked if he meant kicking the dealer in the shins, to which the expert burst out laughing.
She then proposed a much nicer way as she said she could kindly ask the dealer if they could have the item for fifty quid.
Angus then shared his concern, as he quipped: "I'm just a bit worried, in case we don't make good profits. I'm going to get... You know..." He pretended to fall over as though he had been kicked in the leg before they both fell about laughing.
