Emmerdale fans will rejoice next week as Aaron Dingle (played by Danny Miller) and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) finally reunite. Viewers have been begging for a reunion between the pair since Robert returned to the village in May following a six-year stint in prison. Despite attempting to stop Aaron's wedding to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), Robert was forced to watch his ex marry his half-brother. The rivalry between Robert and John reached boiling point when he attacked the medic with a spanner, landing him in hospital. Robert vowed to end his vendetta against John, but the same can't be said the other way around.
Next week, John successfully turns Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) against Robert by exaggerating what happened between him and her son Harry Sugden (Adam Pryor). When Victoria warns Robert he is on his last chance, he breaks down. Opening up about Robert's fragile state, Ryan told Express Online and other press: "Victoria threatens him because he's not changed. He's not doing anything that she's been telling him to do. She says he's out on his own. Robert has a complete breakdown and smashes everything in his room and then Aaron comes in and stops him."
After breaking down in his ex husband's arms, Robert finally accepts that it's time for him to leave the village, admitting it was a mistake ever coming back.
However, Aaron disagrees and reveals he has been fighting his true feelings ever since Robert returned. This leads to Aaron and Robert sleeping together.
Despite the reunion that both Robert and Emmerdale fans have has been longing for, Ryan explained that his character is aware it is nothing permanent.
He said: "It's kind of a take it as it is just in this moment, kind of thing. They even say to each other that they don't want to think about any of that now because it's complicated. But this leads into the next phase of the story. They take it for what it is."
And while it is the romantic reunion fans were hoping for, they will be heartbroken to learn that Aaron plans to flee the village with John.

Detailing how Robert will feel when he finds out Aaron is leaving, Ryan confessed: "He'll be devastated. Robert came back to the village for Aaron in truth. Aaron was his reason to come back and to exist.
"He'll be worried about Aaron's safety but at the same time, I think at this point he's starting to doubt whether or not he's right about John. John's gaslighting and manipulation has gotten through to him because every one is saying the same things to Robert, that he's wrong about John and he's just jealous."
Meanwhile, John becomes stressed by the police developments after police tell Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) that Nate's murder investigation has been reopened due to an inconsistency with Owen Michaels' (Simon Haines) suicide note.
Increasingly fearful the murder investigation will implicate him, John makes a chilling phone call.
