A Gilmore Girls star has been cast in a biopic alongside An American Werewolf in London legend.
Production has recently wrapped up on the upcoming biopic Joy Will Prevail which revolves around the last three years of Estonian-born American architect Louis Kahn and the relationships that inspired his final residential commission.
Prior to his death in 1974, Kahn was often referred to as "America's foremost living architect", having created the designs for The Salk Institute in La Jolla and the First Unitarian Church in New York.
Kahn will be portrayed by actor Griffin Dunne who will be remembered for playing Jack Goodman in An American Werewolf in London back in 1981.
The 70-year-old actor will be starring opposite Gilmore Girls actress Alexis Bledel who iconically portrayed Rory Gilmore for all seven seasons and then the four-episode 2016 Netflix reboot Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
Since the drama's demise in 2007, Bledel has gone on to work on a plethora of other shows and films including Girl Walks Into A Bar, Mad Men, Us and Them, and, most famously in The Handmaid's Tale as Emily Malek.
Bledel will once again be taking on a very different role in Joy Will Prevail as she is going to star as one of Kahn's long-term partners, landscape architect Harriet Pattison.
Set in the 1970s, Khan is at the height of his career as he quietly navigates a complicated personal life with his wife Esther Kahn and two other partners, all of whom know about each other.
Esther is brought to life by actress Jennifer Beals who played Alexandra Owens in the unforgettable film Flashdance.
Speaking about Joy Will Prevail, writer and director Max Korman shared: "The story behind Louis Kahn's final residential commission exists in the tradition of the American Western: the passing of generations; the wanderer and the settler; a family taking root in a changing world.
"At a time when architecture is regaining cultural relevance - particularly in cinema - I'm excited to share this personal project, brought to life by an extraordinary cast and crew."
This isn't the only project Bledel has in the works either as she is set to star in Ponderosa, a drama now in post-production with a synopsis that reads: "When the buffet where his mom works closes down, Zeke has to fend off this rich regular who claims he can solve all their problems."
Gilmore Girls is available to watch on Netflix.
