
Hollywood star Goldie Hawn is busy building a whole new career, as a TV DIY guru. The Oscar-winning actress, 79, has been hammering out a deal with network executives to host her own home improvement show. And she is tipped to nail the lucrative role after stunning fans and studio chiefs with her expertise as a guest star on an episode of popular US series Celebrity IOU, in which she remodelled the kitchen of longtime family friend Celia.
Afterwards, the star of box office blockbusters such as Private Benjamin, The First Wives Club, The Banger Sisters and Death Becomes Her declared: "That was one of the most satisfying things I've ever done." Sources close to Goldie say she "can't wait to find the next property to revamp", and one added: "She's showing the same passion she showed to succeed as a movie star back in the 1970s and 80s."
The former sex symbol, who has lived with action hero Kurt Russell, 74, for 42 years, has not appeared on the big screen since reprising her role with Kurt as Mrs Claus in the 2020 sequel The Christmas Chronicles 2. Her friend said: "Goldie always did like a fresh challenge and she has discovered she's really good at renovating, restoring and redecorating homes. She also finds it so much fun."
