Vladimir Putin is facing growing public dissent and potential political revolt over his brutal war in Ukraine, according to a secret Kremlin bombshell poll. After almost four years of grinding war, the Kremlin appears no closer to achieving any of its military goals.
It has still been unable to take full control of any of Ukraine's four regions, which it illegally annexed in September 2022. The British publication The Economist claims that at its current rate of progress on the battlefield, Putin's army could take until 2030 to seize full control of just the Donbas. The outlet notes that since May, when Russia launched a new large-scale offensive, it has seized only 0.4% of Ukraine's territory and achieved no significant gains.
Meanwhile, Russia's army has suffered catastrophic casualties, losing over one million soldiers.
Cities bordering Ukraine have been subjected to continual bombardment, and Ukrainian drones have repeatedly targeted energy infrastructure and military-industrial site across Russia.
Russia's economy is also tanking, with high inflation rates causing serious pain to consumers.
Ever mindful of public opinion, the Kremlin has been obsessively surveying the national mood, fearful a drop of support for its senseless war could embolden Putin's many enemies.
The Russian leader is reportedly paranoid that his opponents are plotting a coup, according to the Telegraph, and has unleashed a new round of political repressions.
Recent polling commissioned in secret by the Kremlin, but leaked to news outlets, show the Kremlin tyrant has every reason to fear his demise could be just around the corner. A majority of Russians now say they are fed up with the war and want it to end as soon as possible.
56% of respondents said that they are "very tired of the war", up from 47% in 2024, while a further 27% are "partially tired of the war", up from 21%.
The same opinion poll indicated that 61% of Russians want an immediate ceasefire with Ukraine.
Despite the lack of substantial progress and public opinion turning against him, US intelligence reports claim Putin will continue the war at any cost.
He is now seeking to justify the catastrophic losses by seizing more territories, and generally to "secure" Ukraine for Russia.
