UK weather maps have turned icy blue as the country is forecast to experience a cold blast in just a few days' time. The maps, generated by WXCharts using MetDesk data, reveal chilling temperatures across the UK on October 28. The cold weather is expected to kick in early in the morning and continue throughout the day, with a slight increase in the middle.
According to the forecast, Scotland and the northern parts of England are expected to experience the lowest temperatures, with various counties likely to encounter freezing conditions. The Met Office also predicts spells of rain across the country, particularly in the North-west.
Counties and council areas such as the Scottish Highlands, Aberdeenshire, Tyne and Wear, and West Yorkshire, will see temperatures fall below 0C, and in the Highlands region it will fall to a brutal -4C.
Further south in the country, temperatures will be just above 0C, ranging between 2C and 4C until midday. By 6pm, temperatures across the nation will rise to around 7C to 10C for the majority of regions.
However, a faint blue spot can still be seen in the Highland area and around Perth and Kinross, where temperatures of 4C to 6C are predicted.
Spells of rain can be seen moving in from the Atlantic, as noted in the Met Office's long-range forecast for October 28 to November 6.
It states: "A changeable start to the period with bands of rain from the Atlantic moving across the country at times. The wettest and windiest conditions are likely to be across the northwest with some decent drier interludes across the south and east."
