A detective thriller is hailed by fans as "utterly compelling", with one saying they were "hooked" after 10 minutes. Vienna Blood (2019) is based on Frank Tallis' popular Liebermann novels and tells the story of an unlikely duo solving crimes in early 1900s Vienna.
Max Liebermann (played by Matthew Beard), a doctor who has sat at the feet of Sigmund Freud, teams up with police detective Oskar Reinhardt (Jürgen Maurer) to tackle a variety of complex and intriguing murder cases. The fourth series hit screens in August last year, and is thought by many to have wrapped up the story.

But it hasn't stopped fans holding out hope that more episodes inspired by the novels will materialise.
One fan on IMDb said: "10 Minutes in and I was hooked", adding that it is not one for "unsophisticated block-buster fans or the action movie addicts".
"This superb, refreshingly different, historical who-done-it series takes a little bit of work to fully enjoy. It's not popcorn and candy cuisine, and it requires a degree of digesting.
They added that "casting, acting, directing, styling, cinematography, and for the most part the story lines were of a very high quality".

Another added called the series "Utterly compelling...", saying they "loved the setting in Vienna which highlighted the beautiful architecture which was a setting that held and supported the characters incredibly well".
"Each episode was a slow burner composed of many layers which, little by little, kept the viewer captivated and drawn deeper into each episode as it unfolded. I loved each of the three storylines and really warmed to the two main characters. I sincerely hope that there will be further episodes?"
A third said described it as a show that "that has it all".
"Just watched the four seasons that we were lucky to get with Vienna Blood and all I can say is that it is perfect. Casting, writing, costumes... everything in this show makes you love it and makes you hope that it will never stop.
"I finished season four just today and I truly hope that there will be a fifth."
Vienna Blood is straming free on BBC iPlayer now.
