PIL in court seeking SIT probe

Cuttack: A PIL was filed in Orissa high court on Thursday seeking direction to constitute a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the tragic death of a Balasore college girl. The student succumbed to burn injuries on Monday, two days after she set herself ablaze over authorities' alleged inaction regarding her sexual harassment complaint. High court lawyer Shivsankar Mohanty filed the PIL seeking a "time-bound" investigation by the SIT under the supervision of the high court. The petition has not been listed for hearing so far.
